Netflix : users worldwide are in for a major shock. With the beginning of the new year 2026, 55 films and web series will be removed from the OTT platform. These include classic films like “Scarface” and web series like “Prison Break.” See the full list.

Netflix : As the new year 2026 begins, while discussions are rife about the biggest OTT releases in the next 12 months, Netflix, one of the world’s largest streaming platforms, has made a decision that could come as a major shock to fans of cinema and TV shows. Before the release of the final episode of “Stranger Things 5,” Netflix has decided to remove 55 major films and TV shows from its platform. This list includes some very prominent names. These include films ranging from billion-dollar franchises to classic Hollywood classics.

Netflix’s decision comes as it attempts to finalize its deal with Warner Bros. A deal will transform the OTT market, as Netflix will gain the rights to all of Warner Bros.’s library of films and shows, including HBO Max’s.

Netflix : ‘Crooked House’ will be Removed on January 1st

According to reports, among the popular titles that will stop streaming on OTT platforms in 2026 is Giles Paquet-Brenner’s creation, ‘Crooked House.’ Based on an original story by renowned author the film stars Glenn Close, Max Irons, Gillian Anderson, Stefanie Martini, Christina Hendricks, Terence Stamp, and Julian Sands. The film will be removed from the platform on January 1st, 2026.

Netflix : ‘Coach Carter’ and ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ also affected

On January 1st, the first day of the year, James Wan’s ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,’ Edgar Wright’s critically acclaimed ‘Baby Driver,’ and Samuel L. Jackson’s ‘Coach Carter’ are all set to be removed. ‘Blue Streak,’ ‘Blue Crush,’ and ‘Blue Beetle’ are also being removed on the same date. ‘Captain Phillips,’ ‘Clear and Present Danger,’ ‘Crazy Rich Asians,’ ‘Death Becomes Her,’ and ‘Dirty Dancing’ will also be removed. Popular titles also being removed on Thursday, January 1st include the controversial film ‘Don’t Worry Darling,’ starring Florence Pugh, Harry Styles, Olivia Wilde, and Chris Pine.

Films from the “The Hangover” and “Fifty Shades” franchises will also be removed. These films aren’t the only ones being removed, but the OTT platform is also ditching several popular franchises. These include “The Hangover,” “Kung Fu Panda,” “Fifty Shades,” and all the films in the “Lara Croft” franchise. Matt Damon-starrer “The Martian” is also being removed. Alltime classics like Martin Scorsese’s “Taxi Driver,” Antoine Fuqua’s “Training Day,” and Brian De Palma’s “Scarface” are also being removed.
